My name is Stijn Oomes. I am a 3D vision scientist & engineer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

I have a MSc in Physics from Utrecht University (1993) and a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Nijmegen (1998).

I have been fascinated by 3D vision for almost 30 years since the start of my PhD research at the University of Nijmegen.

I have been doing scientific and technological research at Utrecht University, University of Nijmegen, University of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Ohio State University, Thales Research & Technology, Delft University of Technology, and since 2010 at my own company Oomes Vision Systems.

I have been teaching at Utrecht University, University of Nijmegen, Delft University of Technology, The App Academy, Young Mavericks, and the Hogeschool of Amsterdam.
